On artificial “intelligence”

“Stop this now!” I said to the small icon flashing on my screen*. “I don’t want your help in writing my text.” How will anyone ever believe what I say if AI starts writing my content?
It’s messing with my photographs too. Lately I’ve been trying to replicate a mistake I made while shooting at night with my cell phone – the mistake is quite a lovely flash of sweeping motion with an attractive range of shapes and colours.

But when I did a deep dive into the features and settings of my Pixel 7a phone camera, I become aware that the stitched panoramas I was fooling around with are done using artificial intelligence. Is this the stitching I would do if I was putting images together manually? Perhaps not. Could the AI in my phone “learn” from me if I fed it manually stitched panoramas? A truly scary thought.
I want a switch to remove AI from everything in my life. But do I want to go back to a version of Photoshop that requires selecting a subject pixel by pixel? Many of the filters and fixtures that I now like to use are based on machine learning. Is this what the future holds for all of us?
