Folded domesticity

The first-ever Toronto Island Art Crawl was held in June 2021, partly to celebrate the construction of the many small galleries in front of island artists’ houses. I wanted to make something special and unusual for it, so I took some photos of the inside and outside of my house, attended a workshop about alternative presentation techniques, and started working with my prints. I cut and folded, and created these 3D paper objects, which were then displayed in the gallery.

Overwhelmingly positive reaction from passers-by, both those who came for the art and those who were headed to the beach. The exhibition was best viewed in person, but can also be appreciated in this short video https://youtu.be/h3E57zOmd-M

This was very fun to do and may contribute some day to my techniques for the urban transformation series.
